The ASUS Eee Tablet – not to confuse with the Eee Pad – is a digital notebook with monochrome touchscreen and quick 0.1 second page turns. The display has size of 8 inch, a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixel, is not backlight and offers 64-levels of grey.

ASUS is emphasizes the note taking feature with built-in notepad templates and the ability to store, sort, tag, and annotate your notes on the fly.
Besides this the Eee Tablet will serve as text and ebook reader. It has a build in MicroSD slot and a 2 megapixel camera for snapping lecture slides. Students or professionals can then annotate the slides and sync with a PC over USB. The battery life is about 10 hours.

The input sensivity of the screen is 2,450 dpi which could make annotations feel like writing on paper.

The Eee Tablet will cost between $199 and $299 and will be available in September this year.
